OSTEOPOROSIS AWARENESS
& PREVENTION
We are proud to partner with the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) for our National Philanthropy - Osteoporosis Awareness.
Our collaboration with BHOF will raise much-needed funds, engage new audiences, provide opportunities to support BHOF in the long term, and help alert others about risk factors and preventative measures. We take our philanthropic responsibility seriously. Rather than simply writing a check, we want to build an ongoing partnership that will continue to deliver tangible benefits to communities across the nation.

Our sisters are trained peer educators conducting a number of outreach programs from screenings to workshops for local communities to advocate for living a healthy lifestyle, staying active, and eating more foods with calcium and vitamin D. By doing these preventative measures, individuals may reduce the chance of developing osteoporosis as they grow older - a common disease women, particularly Asian women, have higher risks of developing.

WOMEN'S HEALTH & SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION & ADVOCACY
The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities chapter of Delta Phi Lambda has chosen Planned Parenthood as our chapter philanthropy. Our chapter proudly advocates for women's health, sexual health, and reproductive freedom by raising awareness, breaking stigmas, and educating our community through informational posts and events. We want to de-stigmatize women's health topics that are often seen as taboo in Asian households and believe that everyone deserves to be properly informed about women's health and sexual health.

Planned Parenthood provides high-quality inclusive and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care services all people need and deserve. They help people live full, healthy lives no matter their income, insurance, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or immigration status. They also provide medically accurate education and advocate for policies that protect and expand reproductive health care services.

Our chapter is passionate about advocating for women's health and sexual health. We believe everyone should have access to the health care they need and the proper resources to make informed decisions, which is why we chose Planned Parenthood as our chapter philanthropy and aim to help educate our community and raise funds for Planned Parenthood and local women's clinics.

VOLUNTEERISM
Community Service is something UMN DPhiL continuously prioritizes. There are many opportunities in the Twin Cities, at the University of Minnesota, and beyond, where the chapter can put hands together to make a big difference. Previously, UMN DPhiL has done service acts such as trash pickups on campus grounds and making uplifting cards for patients in Children's Hospitals.

Sisters are motivated and dedicated to doing their personal service acts in programs of their choice. To put effort into spreading Asian awareness, our sisters have volunteered with the Multicultural Center of Acedemic Excellence (MCAE) as freshman orientation leaders for students of color. UMN DPhiL continuously seeks ways to give back to our community by taking time out of day to make an impact on those around us.
